PORTLAND, Maine — Central Maine Power says it has restored power to nearly all of the 6,000 customers in Cumberland, Androscoggin and Somerset counties who were without power earlier in the day.

The utility says a transmission line coming out of the Yarmouth substation was out, causing the problem.

The total number of customers affected, more than 6,000 Sunday morning, was down to 19 by mid-afternoon.
