Central High School announces honor parts

CORINTH, Maine — Central High School Principal Garry Spencer has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2012.

Katrina Lessard, daughter of Tina Lessard of Corinth, has been named valedictorian for her class. She plans to attend the University of Maine, majoring in chemical engineering.

Lessard was inducted into the National Honor Society her junior year and elected president of NHS her senior year. She received the Phi Kappa Association of Maine Award her junior year and the Maine Principal’s Award her senior year.

She participated in outdoor track and field, managed the cheering squad, played varsity field hockey and was named to the Academic All-State Field Hockey team her senior year. She is a member of Project Adventure, president of the Envirothon, captain of the Math Team and has participated in Drama Club, where she was awarded the honor of being part of the All-Festival Cast.

Zachary Rogers, son of Neal Rogers of Brewer and Lynn Noble of Hudson, has been named salutatorian. He will be attending the University of Maine, majoring in English.

Rogers was inducted into the National Honor Society his senior year. He has participated in honor choir, a cappella group, jazz band, the string ensemble, and went to the District V Honors Music Festival. He joined the cross country team and participated in indoor track and field, earning eligibility to compete at the state championship.
