Outlook: The Seawolves have locked up the regular-season title and will host the AE tourney next week. The Black Bears hope to generate some confidence and momentum as they prepare to defend their league crown. UMaine began that effort with Tuesday’s 9-4 win over Boston College in Portland, but encounters a surging Stony Brook club that has won three straight and 25 of its last 28. The Bears can finish as high as second or as low as fourth, with only the first-round matchups in flux. Expect both teams to mix and match their pitching to some extent in an effort to keep them fresh heading into the postseason. UMaine has won four of five but only five of its last 13.
