Stearns High School announces honor parts

MILLINOCKET, Maine — Lillian N. Dow, daughter of Donald Dow III and Nichole Jamo, has been named valedictorian of her class. She plans to attend the University of Maine majoring in nursing to eventually become a nurse anesthetist.

Dow participated in varsity basketball, jazz band, One Act, Signs of Seasons, Peer Counselors, Show Choir, math team, prom committee, tennis, field hockey Foreign Language Club, Science Corp., Performing Arts Organization, band and chorus, and was president of the class, vice president of student council, student representative to the school board and a student ambassador and peer mentor.

She won honors including National Honor Society, best female vocalist, Phi Beta Kappa, Maine Girls State Delegate, District V — Vocal, All Festival Cast Award, highest honor roll and academic excellence awards in physical science, biology, chemistry, anatomy, advanced biology, geometry, algebra II, precalculus and trigonometry.

Taylor Lane, daughter of Steven and Theresa Lane, has been named salutatorian of her class. She plans to attend Southern Maine Community College majoring in dietetics.

Lane participated in tech crew for performing arts activities, math team, tennis and Studio One Dance Classes.

Awards include National Honor Society, highest honor roll, College of the Atlantic Book Award and academic excellence awards in English, French, band, precalculus, trigonometry, biology and physical education.

Samantha M. Donley, daughter of Paul and Lori Donley was named third in class. She plans to attend the University of Southern Maine majoring in pre-law studies.

Alyssa McLean, daughter of Bruce and Peggy McLean was named fourth in class. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington majoring in secondary education social studies.

Andrea Steward, daughter of Warren and Kathleen Steward was named fifth in class. She plans to attend the University of Maine majoring in social work.
