Why no whining, picketing, and threatening the safety of clients like the nurses at EMMC?

Anyone who’s watched one of these beautiful Maine built ships emerge from the Kennebec and didn’t get a tear in their eye has to be from Massachussetts.

cracks me up that if you built ships totally funded by tax dollars and
you are unionized it is the greatest job in Maine.  If you are a
teacher, nurse or State employee and you get paid by tax dollars and you
are unionized you are lazy, overpaid and have too many benefits and it
is a waste of tax payer money.

If the article had read “the teachers union” (instead of BIW) “and
its largest unions have reached a tentative agreement on a four-year
    contract, both sides said today.

The contract improves pensions and wages and “holds the line” on
health care costs for employees” there would be 100 posts by now bashing
    teachers and unions.

I know a lot of people who work at BIW.  They are good people and I
am sure they are good workers and deserve every penny and every benefit
they get using our tax dollars.  But, teachers, nurses and State
employees provide valuable services and receive no respect at all.

IMHO all union workers are lazy. Any group that has to make threats to get what they want is. This is why union jobs are going elsewhere to get done for less money and without the whining. The less money the COMPANY makes the is more incentive to move that company to a place they can make more money.  Of course moving a company this size is not easy. Pay should be based on PERFORMANCE and worth nothing more.
