BANGOR, Maine — The landlord of a 55-year-old woman who had not been seen in a couple of days went to check on her on Tuesday night and found that she had died, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.

Detectives from the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division were called to the woman’s State Street apartment at about 6 p.m., the sergeant said.

“Her cause of death is pending,” Edwards said.

The sergeant said Thursday “there is nothing outwardly suspicious” about the death.

The woman’s name was not released by police. Toxicology and other tests are under way to determine how she died, Edwards said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
