BANGOR, Maine — A Dexter man who said he wanted to talk to his ex-girlfriend was arrested instead Tuesday night after he pushed a woman who “stepped in the middle” of the two, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.

Matthew Adams, 26, who was out on bail, was arrested on Curve Street at around 5:40 p.m. and charged with assault and violating his bail conditions, the sergeant said.

The woman was not injured, Edwards said.

Adams was convicted in January of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and was ordered to spend 48 hours in jail, according to court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
