Walk in Addison will benefit cancer center in Ellsworth

ADDISON, Maine — The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center’s 12th annual Walk For Life to benefit the free services the center provides to those affected by cancer in Hancock and Washington counties will take place Saturday, May 19. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Addison Town Hall. Participants may choose a 2-mile or 5-mile course.

Members of the Narraguagus High School National Honor Society will help with a bake sale, face painting and craft projects for children. There will be kiddie train rides and a demonstration by Downeast Area Jazzercize.

Chinese auction items will be featured at the Masonic Hall. There also will be a 50/50 cash raffle with the winner splitting the pot with the center.

The University of Maine at Machias Ukulele Club will perform on stage in the Masonic Hall. A barbecue lunch will be served at the Addison Town Hall with music provided by by DJ Clyde.

Ron Carpenter will coordinate a lobster raffle to benefit the center. Winning tickets will be drawn at 1 p.m. at the Masonic Hall.
