HOULTON – William A. Clifford passed away May 13, 2012, surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born Oct. 20, 1953, in Waterville, to Charles and Emily Clifford.
He graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1971, and then the University of Maine, Orono. He was employed with Georgia Pacific Co., Woodland, as wood management engineer. He worked there until his illness in 1982. He enjoyed many summers in Northport and winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., where he had many friends who were like family.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn and husband, Nigel Musgrave, of Newport, Susan and husband, Jon McLaughlin, of Houlton and Elizabeth Adamz of Blackstone, Mass.; and nephews, James Musgrave and wife, Lisa, and children, Lilly and Clara, of Providence, R.I., Andrew Musgrave and fiancee, Emily Kanstroom, of Cambridge, Mass., Joshua McLaughlin and wife, Sarah, and children, Dawson, Sidda Claire and Saylor, of Houlton and Jason McLaughlin of Winthrop. He leaves his faithful companions, his dogs, Miss Eillie and Miss Molly. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Emily; and his brother-in-law, Craig Adamz. The family thanks all of his personal caregivers who have helped him throughout the years.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Houlton, with Deacon Al Burliegh officiating.
