Jonesport-Beals High School honor parts announced

JONESPORT, Maine — The faculty and administration of Jonesport-Beals High School have announced the class parts for the 2011-12 school year.

Robbi Carver, daughter of Debbie and Mark Carver of Beals, has been named valedictorian. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Machias, where she will study elementary education.

Carver is a member of the National Honor Society and the senior class president. She has received the Maine Principal’s Award and many academic awards and has served as class president, class treasurer and student council representative. She has been involved in the mentoring program, chorus, band and the school play, is a standout player in volleyball, basketball and softball and is a Downeast Athletic Conference All-Star in volleyball and softball. She represented Jonesport-Beals at the Maine Youth Leadership Conference during her sophomore year.

Kristopher Kelley, son of Faith Alley and Kendall Kelley of Jonesport, has been named salutatorian. He plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington where he will be study psychology.

Kelley is a member of the National Honor Society. He is Student Council president and has participated in the school plays and sports programs. He attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security and has distinguished himself by having perfect attendance since kindergarten.
