BANGOR, Maine — A local woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after she reportedly left the lounge of a downtown hotel without paying her bar tab.

Jessica Leland, 28, now is facing a charge of theft of services, Bangor police Sgt. Bob Bishop said Tuesday, citing an arrest report.

According to the report, Leland was reminded to pay the $24 she owed four times at The Charles Inn. Instead of paying, she left for nearby Paddy Murphy’s before the arrest occurred.

When Bangor police Officers Christopher Blanchard and David Farrar confronted her, Leland allegedly said she had no money.

Leland remained at Penobscot County Jail on Tuesday night. She is scheduled to make a court appearance Wednesday at the Penobscot Judicial Center, a jail official confirmed.
