WATERVILLE, Maine — A local pizza shop was damaged Monday morning when a woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the building, according to police.

Sharon Roderick, 66, of Fairfield allegedly lost control of her vehicle on College Avenue and struck the north wall of Darrell’s Pizza, Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Monday afternoon.

Rumsey said police are trying to determine whether a medical problem caused Roderick to leave the roadway. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Roderick was conscious and alert at the scene, Rumsey said, and was taken to MaineGeneral Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
