CARMEL, Maine — A man who was staying on Penny Lane as a guest was treated for minor injuries Monday night after the red mobile home he was staying in caught fire, according to Assistant Chief Bill Crowley of the Carmel Fire Department.
Though few details about the fire or the man who was injured were available late Monday night, that victim, an adult male, was treated at the scene by Carmel emergency medical personnel, Crowley said.
Crews from six area fire departments responded to the fire, which was reported shortly before 9 p.m. at 49 Penny Lane and began in the living room, Crowley said. Firefighters arrived about 10 minutes later and had the fire knocked down within 10 minutes of their arrival, he said.
The cause of the fire remained undetermined Monday night. Crowley said that the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to help pinpoint the fire’s cause.
