Guidelines for posting on

The Bangor Daily News and the Bangor Publishing Co. encourage comments about stories, but you must follow our terms of service.

  1. Keep it civil and stay on topic
  2. No vulgarity, racial slurs, name-calling or personal attacks.
  3. People who harass others or joke about tragedies will be blocked.
The primary rule here is pretty simple: Treat others with the same respect you'd want for yourself. Here are some guidelines (see more):

  • Given that the FDA is routinely made up of people who worked in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry’s before they go to work for the FDA, it’s not a surprise that they find BPA is ‘not a demonstrated risk’. These same folk’s, when they retire from Gov’t work, go right back to their respective industry’s and wind up defending what they did when they worked for the same FDA. It’s a circle. That LePage, and Aho, who came from the Chemical Industry and is going to be going back after Paulie gets the boot, are out making these ‘chin hair’ comment’s is nothing short of disgusting and shows complete contempt for the citizen’s of Maine. If there was ever a reason to suspect where LePage has his priorities in step with, well, this is it. How many women and children in Maine have to suffer because the State Gov’t refuses to act simply because ‘ It’s too expensive’, or accept the Chemical Industry’s whining press release’s of  ‘We don’t agree with your findings. We’ed rather believe our own’. Self-serving excuse’s aren’t evidence. Their an admission of guilt by way of lazy and incompetence. Nice to see just what we pay our elected Official’s for, isin’t it ?

Like the Tobacco Industry the Chemical Industry will lie to the end.  Given the epidemic rates of breast cancer in the US and the massive potential lawsuits, they will lie and lie and lie.  May the lawyers nail them all up against the wall.
