BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police are investigating a robbery early Sunday morning in which a lone man brandishing a knife stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Broadway Irving Mainway convenience store.

“We received a call about a robbery at their 489 Broadway location at 1:46 a.m. [Sunday],” said Sgt. Paul Kenison. “The lone male clerk said a male subject came into the store, presented a knife, and said he wanted money. The clerk opened the cash register and the subject fled on foot with the cash.”

Kennison said the male suspect, whom police are trying to get a better description of by reviewing store security camera footage, is a white male around 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighing 220-230 pounds. The suspect is believed to have fled on foot outbound on Broadway.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is asked to call the Bangor police tip line at 947-7384, or to leave a message with Detective Erik Tall at ext. 5747. printed on March 25, 2017
