By Amanda Beland, Foster's Daily Democrat

BERWICK, Maine—The deadline to file election intentions for two open seats on the Board of Selectmen is about one week away. However, none of the eight potential candidates who took election intention forms have returned them.
According to Town Clerk Judi Buckman, no papers have been returned to the Town Hall. Those eight residents include the two men who currently hold the seats, Bryan O’Connor and Ernest Cartier-Creveling, former Selectmen Tom Lavigne, George Murphy and Oscar Stone, as well Edward L Ganiere and Kenneth Poirier, who each ran for one of the two seats in February and March, and resident Roland Tibbetts.
Residents have until Monday, May 14, at 5 p.m. to file their election intentions. The annual town meetings where the two Board seats will be filled are on June 27 and 28.
