Outlook: This is a rematch of last weekend’s three-game set in Orono. Both teams have been idle since to take final semester exams. The Black Bears hope to get hot at the plate after scoring 10 Sunday against Albany. They had put up only eight runs combined during their recent five-game losing streak. UMaine’s pitching was steady, limiting the Great Danes to 14 hits and five runs in three games. And the Bears did not commit an error. The series kicks off the first three of eight straight games away from Mahaney Diamond for the Bears. Albany’s catalyst is Gaige, who had seven hits last weekend, but the hosts are not an offensive juggernaut (5.1 runs per game).
