AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Tourism Association is paying tribute to Sen. Olympia Snowe.

The association says it will present Snowe with its 2012 Chair’s Award at its annual meeting and awards luncheon on May 18 in Freeport.

The award gives honor to Snowe’s dedication and long-standing service to Mainers.

Snowe, a Republican, has served in the House of Representatives and the Senate since 1974. She announced in February that she would not seek a fourth Senate term in November’s election because she is frustrated by a polarized atmosphere in Washington.
