Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon say “I do” — again. A publicist for the pair says they renewed their vows Friday at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, and they celebrated with an “intimate ceremony after a romantic dinner at the beautiful Jules Verne restaurant” just after midnight local time. Carey, 42, and Cannon, 31, married in the Bahamas in 2008 after a whirlwind romance that began just months earlier. Carey gave birth to their twins, son and daughter Moroccan and Monroe, last April. Cannon was hospitalized in January and later diagnosed with inflammation of the kidneys. He resigned from his New York City radio show in February to help his recovery. … Police say a former Miss New Hampshire USA faces a simple assault charge stemming from a confrontation with her boyfriend. Police said Sunday that 26-year-old Nicole Houde of Manchester, N.H., was arrested Wednesday on charges she punched, kicked, scratched and bit 33-year-old Scott Nickerson, also of Manchester. Police said the two were arguing and Nickerson took Houde’s cellphone, prompting the confrontation. Houde was the 2010 Miss New Hampshire USA. Miss New Hampshire USA and Miss Teen New Hampshire USA are distinct from Miss New Hampshire and Miss America pageants. … Garrison Keillor, the host of “A Prairie Home Companion,” has scheduled a three-day grand opening of Common Good Books in St. Paul, Minn. The celebration kicks off Tuesday evening with a Spring Poetry Free-for-All at Macalester College’s Weyerhaeuser Chapel. Audience members can read aloud at an open mic, backed by a jazz trio. On Wednesday evening, Keillor will be joined by “Prairie Home” actors Sue Scott and Tim Russell in reading from his new book, “Guy Noir and the Straight Skinny,” at Common Good Books. Keillor opened his bookstore in 2006.
