Husson fraternity golf tournament to benefit scholarship fund

BANGOR, Maine — Mu Sigma Chi, a fraternity at Husson University, and the Mu Sigma Chi Alumni Association will host a Charity Golf Tournament at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 29, at Hermon Meadows Golf Club, 281 Billings Road. The event will benefit the United Way of Eastern Maine and Mu Sigma Chi Scholarship Fund.

Tournament sponsors include Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Boston Red Sox, Sam’s Club, Verizon Wireless, The Charles Inn-Big Easy Lounge, Applebee’s, Chili’s and the Olive Garden. Companies or individuals who wish to sponsor the event may contact Maurice Thayer, event chairman, at 951-0654.

Amateur golfers of all skill levels are invited to compete in a four-person shotgun scramble format. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Registration is $280 per four-person team and includes 18 holes of golf, two golf carts per team, one team mulligan and a complimentary barbecue after the tournament. Each participant also will receive a Player’s Pack, including a tournament T-shirt and coupons and items from sponsors. The presentation of awards to winners and a complimentary barbecue will follow the tournament. Hermon Meadows Golf Club is located at 281 Billings Road.
