The American Heart Association’s 13th annual Northeastern Maine Heart Ball, held April 14 at the Bangor Auditorium, raised $125,000 and was attended by more than 375 people.
Funds will go toward supporting association research, education and advocacy necessary to combat cardiovascular disease, Maine’s leading cause of death.
With the theme “Hope For Your Heart,” the evening featured a World War II USO theme complete with a Bob Hope impersonator from Las Vegas. Guests were asked dress in clothing from the 1940s.
Last year’s event drew 330 people, raising $113,000.
