GORHAM, Maine — A Thursday night fire damaged a three-story building in Gorham that includes a pizzeria, a police dispatcher told the Bangor Daily News on Friday.

The Gorham House of Pizza is located on the building’s first floor in downtown Gorham at the intersection of Routes 114 and 25. No further details were immediately available Friday morning.

The town has been hit by six suspicious blazes since March 27, with five of them confirmed as arson.

Unlike Thursday’s pizzeria fire, the previous six incidents took place at homes in rural parts of town. Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland said Friday afternoon the pizzeria fire is unrelated to the string of arson fires in the town and was accidental.

Investigators believe the fire started in the ceiling of a second-floor apartment, according to McCausland.
