Car show to benefit Waldoboro high school project graduation

WALDOBORO, Maine — Medomak Valley High School’s 11th annual Cruisin’ to Graduation Car Show will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, rain or shine, at 320 Manktown Road. The event will benefit the school’s Project Graduation for all classes and a scholarship fund.

More than 400 exhibitors representing 36 classes of cars, trucks and motorcycles will compete at the event. Three trophies per class and dash plaques for the first 300 registrants will be awarded. Other trophies also will be awarded.

Other activities will include Loud Pipe Contest; “Crushstation,” the Lobster Monster Truck; a “Mater” replica based on the movie “Cars”; “Big Weasel,” a rail dragster; craft tent; musical entertainment including the high school’s Pantastics Steel Drum Band; children’s pedal car parade; and greenhouse plant sale. Food concessions on grounds include lobster rolls, sausages, hot dogs, hamburgers and desserts.

Gates open at 8 a.m. for exhibitors and 10 a.m. for spectators. Suggested donation for exhibitors is $5. Spectator admission is $4, $3 students, free to children 5 and under.
