BANGOR – Beatrice Kaskin, 87, passed away suddenly April 10, 2012, at her residence. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Bangor, the daughter of Sam and Ida (Chesner) Less.

Beatrice attended Bangor Schools, graduated from Bangor High School and attended Husson College. She was a lifelong member of Beth Abraham Synagogue and Hadassah and was a member and past president of B’nai Brith. She was a longtime member of Penobscot Valley Country Club. Beatrice supported her husband working with him at Kaskin Veterinary Practice for many years. She also worked for several years at the state of Maine Bureau of Unemployment as a claims representative. Beatrice enjoyed reading, knitting and golf.

She is survived by a son, Jonathan Kaskin and wife, Min Wu, of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Gerald Less and wife, Brenda, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and a niece and nephew, Wendy Koocher and Joel Silverberg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Tzvee Kaskin, in 1975; and by a sister, Anna Silverberg.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Jewish Funeral Chapel, 118 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Bangor. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
