UMaine police charge three with underage drinking in separate incidents

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

ORONO, Maine — Three University of Maine students were charged with underage drinking in separate incidents Thursday, UMaine spokesman Ron Lisnet said Friday.

Both incidents took place in Somerset Hall, Lisnet said.

Just after 9 p.m., campus police responded to a report of underage drinking in Somerset Hall. When they got to a dorm room, they found Gregory Forest, 18, the resident of the room, to be in possession of alcohol, Lisnet said.

Forest was issued a summons while three others in the room weren’t charged, Lisnet said.

About four hours later, police were called back to Somerset Hall on another underage drinking report.

This time, Adam Houle, 19, and Zoe Swaffar, 18, earned summonses for underage drinking, Lisnet said.
