By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A Howland woman was summoned for theft Thursday afternoon after police say she left a local department store with unpaid items.

Store security observed Katie Martin, 27, leave Kohl’s without paying for an Adidas jacket and some infant sleepwear, Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins said Friday morning.

Security escorted Martin back into the store and contacted police.

Martin was cooperative with authorities, the sergeant said, and was issued a summons for theft but not arrested. The jacket and infant sleepwear were returned.
