Veazie taking applications for member of public to sit on school district withdrawal committee

By Nick McCrea, BDN Staff

VEAZIE, Maine — The town of Veazie is seeking a member of the public to fill one position on the town’s RSU 26 withdrawal committee, which will be formed in coming weeks.

The committee will study the withdrawal from the school district, the options of the town if it withdraws and the development of a withdrawal plan if it decides secession is warranted.

There is no term length for the position, which will last until the withdrawal committee concludes its work.

Applicants should fill out a citizen involvement application on the town’s website under “Online Services & Forms” or at the town office.

The deadline for applications is noon Monday, April 23, and applicants are asked to attend that night’s council meeting for interviews with the council.
