Nighttime turnpike commuters to face 25-minute delays in Litchfield

Posted April 09, 2012, at 5:19 a.m.

PORTLAND, Maine — Nighttime Maine Turnpike users will encounter intermittent 25-minute traffic stops southbound at mile 94 in Litchfield this week.

The turnpike authority says the stops Monday through Thursday evenings will start at 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m., weather permitting. Multiple traffic stops will be needed to accommodate repairs to a bridge that carries Route 197 traffic.

Motorists should be prepared for significant trip delays or seek alternate routes.
