Maine man wanted in stabbing of roommate arrested in Key West

The Associated Press

KEY WEST, Fla. — A Maine man wanted in the killing of his roommate has been arrested in Key West, Fla.

The Maine attorney general’s office confirmed Friday that Michael Young of Augusta was detained. Last month, the attorney general issued a warrant for Young’s arrest.

Young was wanted in the stabbing death of 46-year-old David Cox, an Army veteran.

Neighbors said the two men fought frequently.

Maine state police had alerted Florida officials that Young might be in the area, and he was arrested Thursday night. A spokeswoman for the Maine attorney general’s office says extradition is being arranged.
