HOULTON, Maine — Police have recovered a green 1993 Oldsmobile Bravado sport utility vehicle reported stolen Friday off a lot at the intersection of Military Street and Pennington Street.

According to Officer Ezekiel Collins of the Houlton Police Department, the SUV was found late Saturday morning at the top of Reservoir Hill in Houlton, less than a half-mile from where it was reported stolen by its owner, Peter Fitzpatrick.

Collins said local police were tipped off on the SUV’s location thanks to a posting on Facebook.

“There’s a dirt road that goes up behind the hill and it looks like someone drove the vehicle up there and left it,” Collins said, adding they are waiting for the SUV’s owner to inspect it before determining what, if any, damage was caused during the theft.

Fitzpatrick reportedly had parked his SUV on his lot and last saw it around noon Friday. Sometime between 6 and 7 p.m. he noticed it was missing, Collins said, adding the keys were inside the vehicle at the time.

Sgt. Fred Parker is the lead investigator on the case.
