Outlook: The Black Bears need to restore their self-confidence as they gear up for league play. UMaine, which has lost two straight and six of its last seven, has been inconsistent offensively. The Bears are batting .251, averaging only 4.5 runs. The Spartans are riding an eight-game winning streak that includes Wednesday’s 7-5 victory over Old Dominion. Norfolk State, of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, features a pitching staff that boasts a 3.33 team ERA and has limited opponents to a .280 batting average.
