TROY, Maine — Police say that charges are likely to be filed after a Friday night motorcycle accident that left one woman in the hospital.

Leslie Denton, whose age and town of residence were not immediately available, apparently lost control of a 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle at about 6:20 p.m. Friday. Her boyfriend was right behind her, according to Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and saw the crash.

“He said she panicked on the corner,” Trafton said.

Denton was injured and taken to a hospital by ambulance, with no further details available because the accident report was not completed.

The motorcycle apparently was not registered, and Trafton said that charges likely were forthcoming.
