Sheriff’s deputies say a woman threw powder on Kim Kardashian in the lobby of a West Hollywood hotel where the television personality was hosting an event. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to the unidentified hotel on North San Vicente Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday. The woman who allegedly threw the powder was detained by hotel security and later released at the scene. Kardashian told the deputies she did not want to press charges against the woman and a non-criminal battery report was taken. Kardashian refused medical treatment, returned to her room, removed the powder from her hair and clothing and returned to the event. … The comedian Gallagher says he’s had his fill of performing live onstage for crowds and is retiring after 32 years. The Los Angeles-based comedian, whose full name is Leo Anthony Gallagher, told an Ohio radio station Thursday that his retirement plans include posting his writings online for fans and possibly appearing at private parties. Gallagher is known for smashing watermelons with a sledgehammer. He had a heart attack March 14 before a performance at a suburban Dallas bar. He was released from a hospital Wednesday. He said that it sometimes didn’t matter how clever his jokes were if the audience couldn’t hold their liquor. He said the job is like “baby-sitting people who can’t handle alcohol.” … Libertarian Party members are set to nominate former television reality series star Rupert Boneham as their candidate for Indiana governor. Libertarian officials say the fan favorite from 2004’s “Survivor: All-Stars” is unopposed for the party’s nomination and that he’ll be formally nominated at its state convention in Indianapolis on Saturday. The tie-dye wearing Boneham won $1 million on the TV show and donated some of it to his Rupert’s Kids charity, which provides mentoring and job training to at-risk youths.
