Outlook: The Black Bears look to halt a three-game losing streak before heading to Bryant for a three-game set starting Friday. UMaine hopes to get the bats pinging after averaging 4.8 runs with a .255 team batting average. Brown, coming off three losses at Tulane, is hitting .258. It will be playing its first home game of the season before heading on an eight-game trip to California. Opponents are batting .356 against a Brown staff that is averaging almost eight walks per outing with a defense making almost two errors per contest. UMaine moves on to Smithfield, R.I., for single games Friday through Sunday. The Bears’ projected starters are RH Steve Perakslis (0-2, 3.38, 11), RH Jeff Gibbs (0-3, 10.31, 19) and probably RH Shaun Coughlin (1-2, 5.32, 14).
