LePage signs bill allowing concealed weapons for state workers

The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage has signed into law a bill that will allow state workers to store concealed weapons in their locked vehicles while at work.

The bill was signed Tuesday, but will not take effect until 90 days after the close of this year’s legislative session.

The new law will extend to state workers the same rights that a law passed last year gives workers who are employed by private companies.

Supporters of the new law say it affirms their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.
