ERIE, Pa. — A Maine man has pleaded guilty to two counts in what authorities in western Pennsylvania alleged was a kidnapping and sexual assault on a couple in Allegheny National Forest.

The Erie Times-News says 37-year-old Mike Beaulieu of Anson, Maine, pleaded guilty Wednesday to kidnapping and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence in the August 2010 attack on a couple visiting the Kinzua Point Information Center.

The paper says he faces a possible sentence of 37 years to life, according to federal sentencing guidelines detailed in court in Erie.

U.S. District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin scheduled sentencing for July 26. Beaulieu was arrested in New Brunswick after the victims said he accosted them at gunpoint, tied up the man and raped the woman.
