BANGOR, Maine — A bail check of a Bangor man helped send him back to jail after police found a hypodermic needle and knives at his residence, according to Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt.

Craig Pelkey, 44, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with violating conditions of his release, Hunt said. He had been arrested in February for carrying a concealed weapon, the lieutenant said.

Hunt said authorities went to Pelkey’s Center Street residence to perform the bail check and found the needle and two knives.

He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Friday.
