BANGOR – Raymond A. Miller Sr., 63, died March 13, 2012, at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born Oct. 6, 1948, in Presque Isle, son of Arthur and Geraldine (Forbes) Miller.
Raymond served as a specialist four in the U.S. Army in South Vietnam receiving many citations and medals including, Vietnam Service Medal with V device with two bronze stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Bronze Star with V device and Oak Leaf cluster. Raymond worked for City of Bangor Public Works for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Wood of Bangor; three granddaughters, Lyndsey, Bethany and Rebecca; one grandson, Adam Miller of Connecticut; one adopted son, Raymond Miller Jr. and his wife and two children of Brewer; two brothers, Arnold Miller of Orono and Michael Miller of Blue Hill; two sisters, Nancy Brown of Blue Hill and Betty Spencer of Winterport; a very dear friend, Charlie Hatch; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Anne Miller. Raymond will be greatly missed for his wit and love of family.
Services for the family will be held in the spring. Arrangements by Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
