RSU 13 seeks input on superintendent search

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

ROCKLAND, Maine — The public has its opportunity this week to have a say in what qualifications the next superintendent of RSU 13 should have.

The RSU 13 superintendent search committee announced that an online survey began Monday and that two public forums will be held later this week.

To participate in the survey, the district said, members of the public need to log on to the RSU 13 website at www.rsu13.org and follow the link to the Survey Monkey.

The first forum is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oceanside High School East on Broadway in Rockland. The second will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oceanside High School West in Thomaston.

The search committee stated that these meetings and the online survey will help the panel describe and prioritize the professional skills the RSU 13 School Board will require of applicants for this important position.

The district — which consists of Rockland, Thomaston, St. George, Owls Head, South Thomaston and Cushing — is looking to find a successor to Judy Lucarelli who resigned three months ago.

The district has advertised the post, seeking candidates.
