FALMOUTH, Maine — The Hannaford Community Challenge presented by Kraft Foods will be held June 21-24 at Falmouth Country Club, and tickets to the event which will feature former LPGA Tour stars are on sale online.

The tournament, sponsored by Hannford Supermarkets, has a purse of $200,000 and will feature 40 players from The Legends Tour, the official senior tour of the LPGA.

All of the money raised through ticket sales will go to three local charities: Good Shepherd Food-Bank, First Tee of Maine and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Ticket purchasers can designate which charity will receive the proceeds from their purchase, which can be done online at www.thelegendstour.com/tickets. Tickets will also be available through charitable organizations.

A pro-am is scheduled for June 21, and the 36-hole pro tournament is June 23-24. Ticket prices are $10 per day for adults, and children 17 and under get in free.

“People who attend the Hannaford Community Challenge will see some of the world’s best female golfers compete and also contribute to local organizations through their ticket purchases,” Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman, said in a press release. “Hannaford Supermarkets is proud to create this exciting and unique professional sporting event in Maine.”
