Old Town, Brewer churches to celebrate joint ministry March 24

St. James’ Episcopal Church in Old Town and St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Brewer will celebrate their collaborative ministry with the Rev. Ann Kidder at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24.

The service will begin in Old Town at St. James’, 132 Center St., and conclude in Brewer at St. Patrick’s, 21 Holyoke St..

Bishop Stephen Lane, head of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, will preside.

“I am excited to be leading the people of St. James’ and St. Patrick’s in this new model of ministry that seeks to maintain the unique identities of each parish while allowing them to collaborate to better fulfill their respective missions,” Kidder said Wednesday in a press release.

She will lead a ministry team that will include the Rev. Richard Johnson and deacons Jan Matter and Margaret “Peggy” Day.

Kidder has been designated “coordinating priest-in-charge” at both churches.

St. James’ and St. Patrick’s each hold services at 10 a.m. Sundays. Kidder rotates between parishes.
