Chords for Cure to rock Sugarloaf

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine — Eastern Maine Medical Center orthopedic oncology surgeon Dr. Ian Dickey will lead the rock band The Stone Doctors at the annual Chords for Cure event from 9 p.m. to closing Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, and 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Sugarloaf Ski Resort. Proceeds from the event will help support children’s cancer programs at EMMC.

This year marks the sixth year that The Stone Doctors have performed to raise funds for pediatric oncology at EMMC. The group is known for covering classic Rolling Stones songs, using an amplifier reportedly used by Keith Richards.

The Stone Doctors will perform as part of the Widowmaker Lounge Music Series. Admission is $10. Proceeds will benefit EMMC’s children’s cancer programs. For information, call 973-9633.
