BROOKTON – Virginia A. Grass, 77, passed away March 2, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 11, 1934, in Forest Station, the daughter of Marion T. (Kinney) and Leonard Murray Grass.
Virginia worked as a licensed practical nurse at a prenatal hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, for 34 years. She retired in 1996 and moved back to Brookton. She was a member of Brookton Baptist Church.
Her survivors include a sister-in-law, Jeanne Grass of Raymond; four nieces, Shelley Cullens and Louis of Windham, Rhonda Small and Brian of Raymond, Lorrie Small and Michael of Raymond and Jeannette Curry and Kevin of Windham; six nephews, Michael Grass and Julie of Mattawamkeag, David Grass and Lita of Limington, Bradley Grass and Cheryl of Windham, Kevin Grass and Betsy of Gorham, Lloyd Grass and Donna of Windham and Keith Grass and Dawn of Raymond: a special cousin, Alberta Hayman of Brookton, with whom Virginia made her home; as well as cousins, Seth Hayman and Elaine, and Susan and Jerry Downs and family.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home – Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brookton Baptist Church with the Rev. Peter Grenier officiating. Spring interment will be at Eaton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Brookton Baptist Church, Main Street, Brookton, ME 04413.
