AUGUSTA, Maine — A state panel that assesses snowpack, stream flow, river ice conditions and other factors is meeting to assess the potential for spring flooding in Maine.

The River Flow Advisory Commission is meeting Thursday at the Maine Emergency Management Agency offices in Augusta. The commission meets in late winter each year to share information and examine the likelihood of spring flooding along Maine’s rivers and streams.

The panel is composed of state, federal and industry representatives.
