Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce brochures hit the streets

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

CAMDEN, Maine — Fresh from the printers, 100,000 copies of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce’s new 184-page area guide and business directory have arrived and distribution has started.

The first mailing to visitors who have requested a copy of the 2012 book comprises almost 10,000 magazines and will start leaving the Chamber offices next week. It will take a team of staff and volunteers about a month to mail them all, the Chamber said in a news release. Bulk distribution to state information centers, Chambers of Commerce, AAA offices and other tourism locations also has started.

A copy will be sent to each Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce member next week. Key locations will have cases delivered for display and distribution.

People who want multiple copies to distribute can stop by the Chamber’s Camden or Rockland visitors centers between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each box contains about 50 copies. Anyone wanting to take more than a box or two at one time should give the Chamber 48 hours’ notice by calling 236-4404 or 596-0376.

Online PDF and flipbook versions will be ready and uploaded shortly, and the Chamber also is exploring e-reader and tablet versions for the first time this year.
