ROCKLAND, Maine — A 23-year-old Cushing man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of metal from a Warren business.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was notified Friday morning, Feb. 24, of a theft that had occurred at The Alternator Shop on Western Road in Warren.

The sheriff’s office said at the time that the theft was one of many happening throughout the county and statewide.

With assistance from the complainant and workers at Tim Jackson’s Salvage in Washington, Deputies John Hansen and John Palmer were able to arrest John Young, 23, of Cushing on that day for receiving stolen property, violation of conditional release, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

The department said he stole about $1,000 worth of auto parts including alternators, starters and batteries.

The department continues to investigate the theft which it said involved at least one more person.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office encourages all to be alert and call the Knox County Regional Communications Center at 911 or nonemergency at 594-5656 for any suspicious activity that is seen.
