Tractor-trailer rolls over exiting 295 in Falmouth

FALMOUTH, Maine — A tractor-trailer rollover on the Falmouth Spur of the Maine Turnpike disrupted traffic Thursday morning, State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

McCausland said the truck had exited the southbound lane of Interstate 295 onto the spur, and the vehicle rolled onto its side at the end of the ramp.

The truck was traveling from New Brunswick and was hauling large rolls of paper. The driver, Temur Klebleev, 29, of New Brunswick, was not injured.

Due to the fact there was a significant diesel fuel leak, the Department of Environmental Protection was called in to assist. MDOT crews shut down the Exit 11 off-ramp and the Falmouth Spur eastbound ramps from Route 1.

Traffic is expected to be shut down for some time, McCausland said.

“The road is still closed and I expect it to be at mid-afternoon before the road is clear,” McCausland said.

Falmouth police and fire personnel backed up state police at the scene.
