LIMESTONE, Maine — Pros, novices and beginners alike are welcome to strap on a pair of skis during the Friends of the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge’s Second Saturday event on March 10 to enjoy the trails and sights of the Limestone refuge.

The Maine Winter Sports ski trailer will be on location with plenty of skis to loan to anyone who needs them. The Second Saturday event also will feature an informal ski clinic for participants of all ages.

“If you always wanted to try cross-country skiing before buying the equipment, this is your chance,” event organizers said.

The trails will be open for exploring during the event for both skiers and snowshoers.

Officials with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Eat Well Nutrition Education Program also will be on site with samples of healthy foods and recipes.
