PATTEN, Maine — The parents of a 7-month-old girl found her dead in a South Patten Road home at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and Maine State Police are investigating as they do with all children under the age of three, Detective Josh Haines said Wednesday.

“There are no signs of foul play,” the detective said.

The child’s name and the names of her parents are not being released by police.

“The family is pretty upset,” Haines said. “Obviously, they’re grieving.”

The infant’s body will undergo an autopsy Wednesday morning at the medical examiner’s office in Augusta, the detective said.
