Lots of people think that Paul LePage is the devil on earth for trying to make cuts to welfare programs and cutting the DHHS budget.  EVIL REPUBLICANS!!!!!!! New Hampshire makes some large cuts and that state has a Democrat Governor. So is the cry now EVIL DEMOCRATS?

This article shows that this is a nation wide problem that EVERY Governor and Legislature is having to deal with.

I may be a huge jerk for suggesting this,  but if your 363 dollar welfare check went to things like trips to the ice rink, frequent snacks while out and about and buying popular brand names clothes then perhaps you might not have really needed that much to begin with?

¨Butler said SSI is designed to help the individual who cannot work, not be spread out over several other members of the family¨.

So welfare money or SSI money given to you becuase you are disabled and need help  should not be spent to support your wife and five children? Apparently Mr. Butler thinks so. I must be confused as to the true purpose of these types of programs.
